Hi there everyone, I have an old pike mount that i gave a new paint job. I lightly misted over the areas that were missing paint with brown ( thats what the paint schedule on jim allreds said to use first) i then used bass belly white for the stomach and gill covers. after that i used medium bass green on the sides of the fish, then added the 'beans' in with my white. Then darkened the back. my colors seem flat, and dull, I want to achieve more depth in my colors.  I was thinking instead of using the brown in the beginning, use white to some what antique the fish.  any help would be great, thank you in advance.

Try sealing every color before  you paint on the next one .That way you can get some depth. That's how I do it and its OK .

You could also try the candy/ or bleeder type paints but be super carefull with them.
practice on something first but they are good when you get the hang of them.
hope this helps.
