Got my envelope from the NTA with the discounts from supply company's. Over half says they expire DEC. 31 2011. This is 2012 isn't it. Just thought that was funny.

You're lucky. I joined the NTA last spring so that I could go to the convention in Sioux Falls last July. The only thing I ever got in the mail from them was my renewal notice, a couple weeks ago!

Same here! Plus I got outdated coupons last year too.

I just heard, "through the grapevine", that one of the LARGER supply companies is skipping the NTA convention next summer, too.

First of all, the National Taxidermists Association would like to express our sincere heart felt appreciation to the supply companies, not just for the coupons they have given so benevolently to our members, but for all they do year in and year out to help make our profession the glowing success that it truly is.

We can assure members that their coupons will in fact be honored by all supply companies save one. That supplier will be contacted on Monday morning so that our oversight may be addressed of which afterwards we feel said coupon will be honored.

Certainly we regret any inconvenience this may have created and it is not without our deep apologies at the same time.

While there is a leading supply company that did in fact, due to unforeseen circumstances cancel their exhibitor space to the upcoming show, they generously requested their payment for the space be kept within the coffers of the NTA. A most generous gesture that is greatly appreciated. Personally, as I travel the country attending wildlife meetings and participating on international conference calls for the NTA Conservation Committee, it is overwhelming to notice just how many organizations and wildlife agencies have deployed major cutbacks to accommodate an otherwise depressing economy. The vendor areas at these conferences are shrinking, the round tables are growing smaller, the ranks are becoming thinner while the demands of representation are steadily increasing in every aspect of wildlife management.
Every supply company and taxidermist in America needs to know that the NTA is there for you first, foremost and always.

John, Why sent out coupons that have expired without a explaination that they still will be honored. Without that infomation
how are we to know they still will be honored. With all the bad publicity NTA has been getting you would think the Board would see to it this information would be added rather than just tossing some expired coupons in mail.
Also why not look into why OLD Fart didn't get his package for joining.

jtcjr, in all fairness John has volunteered to find out.  I really don't care. I have no plans to become a member again unless I attend another NTA convention, which I doubt I ever will. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who attended the show in Sioux Falls and never heard from the NTA after that. More than one person has contacted me telling me that! I joined and paid my money for that and that only, with no expectation of anything else.

Gentlemen, the expiration dates on the coupon issue was a mistake, a simple honest mistake. One that will most likely never happen again. Our membership family has our humble apologies concerning any inconveniences this may have caused while our president and I personally beg your indulgences in the matter.
With regards to Old Fart and his valid issues, somehow I believe that if we ever do meet at some point in the future, it'd be pretty tough saying goodbye afterwards. However, please let us know at once should a member feel that any part of our NTA benefit package has not been delivered and or fulfilled. The NTA is not just an organization or agency to us. It's our home. One in which the porch light will always be turned on for our industry.

Just my 2 cents worth gentleman, but the NTA has always been quick to respond through phone, email, and postal mail each and every time I have contacted them. I just joined last year, and this year will be my first convention, but they have been very pleasant to deal with and a lot more family oriented than many others I contacted. If you have any problems with them at all, just talk to them like you would any other friend, family, or neighbor. There all pretty nice folks!!!

On another note, the pdf/coupon I sent in should not have an expiry because it is honored for more than just the first order... JUST IN CASE it does or looks unclear... NTA member will continue to receive their 25% off all orders in my etsy store as well as most other items and services.

Have a great new year!
