Fish painted and glossed now not happy with the color
«

I finished a customers walleye and have it glossed and looking at it, I do not think the golden yellow is very noticeable, Which it should be. I know I should have looked at it better before glossing. Can I paint over the glosss and then regloss when I am done or can I redo the whole painting of the fish, and if so could you explain how I go about removing the gloss?
Thanks

Yes you can add some more gold if needed, just regloss after. Careful on thickness too thick and you will bury detail. If you feel you need to strip, wipe it down with thinner and paper towel. If that don't work you can use paint stripper on it. You may have to re-card fins once you wash off stripper. Good luck 3bears

3 Bears :
Just wanted to let you know that I did what you said and it worked good. The customer was very pleased with his fish and so was I.

That is good to hear. I have had to do the same before. I use an automotive clear for the final but I always use coats of lacquer clear throughout painting to add depth to the final product. Take care, 3bears
