I am mounting a perch that has a couple missing fins and I was wondering what the best method is to making and replacing them. I am still new to this kind of stuff and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

you could order a fin set from lake country, or make one out of apoxie sculpt this link shows how to rebuild the tail of a pike, the same method can be use for any type fin.  I used this method to rebuild all the fins on one of my pike mounts.  http://outdoordreams.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fish&action=display&thread=894       hope this helps Smiley

I would just get anothe rfin from another fish. If you cant replace it from another perch, use one from a bass or bluegill or whatever it takes.

im a newb too, but what i would do is use fin magic....if you dont have any its worth getting some, you will use it for all kinds of things, like fin repair or seamlessly attaching fins. just mix some up and spread it between two pieces of a zip lock bag, until its as thin as you want, give a bout ten minutes, peel away the plastic, then cut out the desired shape with some sharp scissors, then dremel out some rays, they wont look very natural too begin with but you can make them look good with some creative painting, just play with it and have fun... dont worry about wasting some fin magic. a little goes along way. you can touch it with your fingers while its still tacky if you dip your fingers in some soapy water.......you might be able to press some rays in with a knife or something if you time it right.......have fun.....i love the stuff.
