This 1st UTA convention in Pasco ,Washington was really a great beginning for an association which only wants to help all taxidermists become better informed.
While attending the award presentation ,Mr Michael Schlaback was the master of ceremonies. While being introduced by Craig Lewis I had an opportunity to speak about Mikes generosity to the taxidermy industry and his caring for his fellow taxidermists. He is an overly generous individual  in all his dealings on this web site.
I at the time did not speak out as I should have.
I more than anyone else should know about his generosity and caring.
In 2010 Mike after reading a post by George Roof concerning my very serious kidney problems came to my aid an offered to donate his kidney to me . I was a complete stranger to him.

Mike lives in La Grang ,Texas and the surgery was to be in Seattle ,Washington. Mike went the extra mile and completed many many tests to see if he could be the donor.
I have had diabetes for over 60 years, open heart surgery and dialysis before he came along.
Now this Kidney thing. he was my last change at any kind of a life.
Without his kind help and the help of my new wife Carol the future was looking very bleak.
Everyone on the net rallied to our support and to all those who helped and there are many  , Thank You.
To Mike ,You are one in a million.
Because  I hove been able to attend the World Show and now the First UtA Show.
If ever any of you get to meet this man you are in for a special treat. He and his wife Miranda are the best of the best.

Harry, as I said before, it was a not a choice, it was a calling.  After talking with George your situation nagged at me for days kinda like Lassie barking because Billy's in the well.  I had to call you, but it was not my choice.

Also, you and I both know that this surgery would have never happened had it not been for Ken Edwards and this site.  Without the help of this site it would not have happened, no way, no how.

That is one reason why when/if another company or individual decides to start a rival sight and welcomes people by bashing this sight either directly or through code I use the cocunut telegraph and ask my friends 'what have they done for another human being to be able to level those accusations'.  100% fact, this site  saved Harry Paulsons life and raised the money to allow that mission to happen.  Don't EVER start a new site bashing 'that other site'.......... I'll do my best to make sure you only get 4-5 posts in a day instead of a 1,000 and i'll do it very quietly Wink .  I know that flows a little off target, but it shows how I love the inventor and family of this site.  BTW if you ever start a site that builds itself independantly without referencing this one in a negative way, I will be the first to post a congrats!

We've seen each other walk down some windy roads and we most of the time wind up on the straight and narrow, but we've seen it thanks to Ken Smiley

Well said everybody.  Harry Mike is a great person I like to call a friend even tho I have only met him once. Mike your right too.  This site is the backbone of my learning, and its creators should be hailed hero's for getting all us the sharing of information we all wanted and needed.  I know at the time Harry and Mike were going threw all the transplant issues and post were piling up about it, I could not miss one bit of it.  We here on the net witnessed a miracle right before out eyes.  Some of which, (mine included), were often filled with tears.  It also shows just how great the human race is to be able to pull together as it has to help those in need.
My hats off to all of you who have saved a life, enlightened us, entertained us, and let us meet special people and make new friends on the taxi-net that other wise wouldn't have happened.
