Auto clear coat?

You guys that use auto clear coat on your fish, is the stuff you buy a two part clear coat that you have to mix or is it already to go out of the can? I haven't used it before but want to start and just saw the one part stuff at the auto parts store and wasn't sure if I should get it. Thanks.

Yes its twopart. Omni AU 260 or AU 261 with the hardener of choice, slow fast or medium. One of the numbers is a high build and the other is low build. which means one makes a thicker coat going on the fish than the other.

I use DCU 2002
It is a really good gloss just don't hit it too hard on your first coat
It is fairly forgiving
And very durable
But the one part is good for general use
I like the two part
Expensive but customers like it
I have done hundreds of fish using a one part gloss coat
All on personal preference
I like the best with UV protection
I do guarantee my fish to my customers

if you guarantee it, why would you need to strip it?

Any 4:1 ratio Acrylic Urethane clear should do. It is a 2 part mix.

Maybe for repairs.

you'll also need a touch up gun to spray the two part gloss

Or an automotive sprayer, I prefer the gravity fed. & make sure to clean the gun right away after use, it will not clean after it sets up like lacquer.
