John my nmolds are 2 part bondo molds with an opening in the top to pour into.
There is usually some minor leakage out of the bottom but that is desirable.  I pour them over a plastic bag to contain the drainage.   It sets up quick enough that it works but 326 or 327 will not work in this application.

I blend my fins with apoxie either sculpt or smooth.  I assume fin magic would work but I have never desired to use it for that purpose.

Thanks also Gary,
these fins are costing me quite a bit to get right !
before this thread came up I had already ordered some "flexible resin additive" to use with my clear resin so will try this first, if this fails then I shall try the 325. I honestly don't know what I would be doing right now if it wasn't for this forum, and the help and advice given here.

Since you are talking about experimentation, there may be some experiments that you can try using SmoothCast 325 and another product called ClearFlex 95 or 50. Both are urethanes. One is a 2 part plastic urethane and the other is a 2 part rubber urethane. A combination of products will result in a translucent somewhat flexible material that will be suitable for casting fins sets. Cure times may be a bit higher, but the result may be worth it. Anyone willing to give it a try?
