this is the first phesant that ive done. done alot of ducks but this bird here dident want to work for me. form was too big had to shave it down some. wattles were too big had to shave them down some but it all came together finally.

neck looks kinda skinny to me maybe more in the crop area beak is kinda yellow i think it should be more gray/ cream color just what i think

like i said it was my first. dont get many of em to do here in central arkansas. there is more browns and greys in the beak than what show in the pic and as for the base i made it out of an old fence post and a piece of barb wire and a small round base from hobby lobby.

That is a good idea vs buying one, the one you made is exactly what i wanted to do. I am getting ready to mount my first bird, i have a few in the freezer and am about finished making my flesher and am going to start.
I have watched a few videos over and over but do you have any pointers from your first one cause i think you did a really good job for your first

Not bad for your first, the legs are to far back and that bulge in the front of the "ring" doesn't look right. But keep at it, they'll get better...
