fins

I bought some fins for a cast that I did of a perch because I destroyed the fins in the mold process. My problem is the fins are a 1/4 inch thick! What is the best way to thin them down and keep the detail ? O ya this is my first comp fish so I would like to get it right, thanks WRT

I have never seen fins that thick ! any idea what they are made of ? with my own hand made polyester resin fins I can dremmel them down quite good at the very edge, but to go from 1/4 inch would need some skill in replacing lost detail. Personally, I would go for another make of fin, Lake country's are very good. And I am sure some of the USA guys will know of lots more.
good luck
John

man thats a tough sell on competition mount. Find someone on the forums that may sell you a set and/or learn to cast your own would be my suggestions.
