What I did...
Mixed up some paste of Basic White and peroxide, covered the skull in the paste then wrapped it in plastic wrap.  I set it in front of a space heater for 30 minutes then unwrapped and it wasn't very white.  I covered in paste and wrapped again and let it sit for approx. 24 hours at room temp.  When I checked again it still wasn't very white.  Note that this skull was pretty white straight outta the degreasing bucket, but didn't whiten much more after whitening.

My questions...
I had a few spots that were yellowish/brown and on the bottom a purple color.  I believe purple means more degreasing, right?  And should I use another round of paste and allow it to sit longer or could I soak in BO for a few hours without causing damage to the skull?  Also, in the one picture on the top of the skull, you will see numerous little divits... what the hell did I do!?Huh  And one more question that I know has been answered before, but after degreasing if you end up with a fairly white clean looking skull, that doesn't necessarily mean it's degreased, right?  And if after degreasing a skull and it is still brown, this doesn't necessarily mean it's not degreased, right?  Outside of the obvious, how much does color matter after coming out of the degreaser?   Thanks for the help!

Little divots look like part of the skull structure. How long did you degrease for? Whitening bone with grease in it won't do much.

Looks like quite some grease to me, but I'm not a deer expert. Degrease for a couple of weeks more and see again would be my advice.

Sea Wolf,  I degreased for exactly 32 days in water and DAWN at 115-120 deg., changed the water twice in the first week and again after two weeks and again a couple days after that.  The water seemed to stay clear and the skull was pretty white so I took it out.  Maybe I jumped the gun a little.  I'll throw it back in.  Thanks!
