just be careful.alot of state have shell requirements alot bigger then that. here in ny snapping turtles went from NO REGULATIONS AT ALL to the most dumbest regs and seasons ever. i loved to fish for big snappers it was the funnest thing to do in the summer now a fishing pole is illegal to catch turtles.lol. they want you to shoot them with slugs on a river with other boaters and the shell has to be 12 inches long or its not legal. so how the hell do you measure the shell before you kill it?lol. i hope you find your turtle they make awesome mounts for sure. heres my biggest. 43 pounds mounted by bob greenwood aka redwolf.
