I like my own I guess. Without that I wouldn't be able to do the others.  Smiley

Well ... I like this one ..

This one ...

This one is neat. This was before I degreased it properly.

Large Black Bear, a Mini horse and an old one that I can't ever replace. Just finished rewhitening it for the umteenth time. After 40 some years it still has oil in it and it keeps getting moldy.

Two very different, huge bears. Future degreasing projects.

This is one of the bears in that box. Smiley

.. and I like my coffee cup too

... And this one is in the freezer .... (just kidding)  Smiley

Don't have many to choose from, but I'd have to say this turkey bird I did for a friend.

That's nice, I've never seen a display with a turkey skull before.

Here's a couple quick pics of my cabinet. The stuff needs tidying up, if only I wasn't so lazy.

I like that.  Planning on putting my deer's skull and the tanned tail on the shoulder mount I did.  I don't have a picture of my skull collection, but I have two doe skulls, a coyote skull, two buck skulls, and a raccoon skull.  All found in the woods where I hunt, aside from the yote.  I purchased an already cleaned one off ebay, simply because the one I tried boiling, fell apart, and stunk so bad!  It had been dead a few weeks already, starting to rot, it was gross, lol.

Wow you have a lot of skulls!  I really just wish I had a wolf one, but they are so expensive.

I really like the way that turkey mount was done. Not only well done, it's attractive. I like the glass case too. I need about 4 of those. Sadly, most of mine live in cardboard boxes.

And a wolf head will run you about $40. Not expensive at all. Macerate it and clean it the right way and you will have a nice one.

That is awesome.  Never even thought about doing one like that.  Next turkey is going into the beetles!

Even one I seen that wasn't cleaned was over a hundred bucks!  At this point in time I've got no means to macerate anything.  I have a doe skull sitting in my garage right now, lol.  It's plenty cold enough out there now, so it's pretty much frozen.  I think I'll have to wait for spring time to get a heater and a bucket to clean the skull up.  Would a simple fish tank heater work for that?  Trying to go cheap on it, since I'd only do a couple skulls here and there.

I love these threads! So cool to see how everyone display their collections! Cheesy

I recently set up a "Wall of Skulls" in my bedroom. Everything is still pretty messy and unorganized but I love having most of my collection in one place. In the process of hanging up some of the larger skulls (elk, buffalo, wildebeest, etc) now.

Fish tank heater will macerate just fine as long as you get a good submersible one that will hit at least 90. While you can, get all the extra flesh you can off the deer and get the brains out of it. Brains sitting in that skull for months will make it a degreasing nightmare. And there are several trappers on here that regularly sell wolf heads for $40 to $45 raw. Will take you about a week to clean by macerating.

I'm a little worried about the smell it's going to have, lol.  That and I really don't want to pick brains out!  I don't do very will with brains and eyeballs, lol.  I may just see what my local taxi will charge just to clean it.  When I caped out my doe I knew I needed to poke her in the eye and pull the skin away so I wouldn't leave her eyelid attached to the skull, I placed my finger near the corner of her eye, and had to look away while I had my finger in there!  I pulled the skin over, so I couldn't see it and continued skinning.  I'm sure once I do it some more I'll be a little less squimish about it.  It was fun none the less.  I skinned my husbands buck first, and I refused to stick my finger it's eye!  He just did a euro mount anyway.
