My first water scene habitat and am open to critiques. There will be a pair of wood ducks mounted to it so how does it look so far. Thanks for the help and have a blessed day.

Look good. But it looks a bit rigid. The edge of the rocks is too strait. I do like the little spike plants, but I would seem to think you would see a small group of them, 3 to 5 plants, instead of a single plant. The moss on the stick seems to come from nowhere. It's just on the stick. Maybe try to transition that on to the rocks or something to create some flow. I really like the plant at the end of the stick. Depending on the position of the birds, you might want something that creates a bit of a frame over the birds. Some tall plants that curve over the birds.
It's a great looking start to your finished piece.

Polytranspar artificial water out of the McKenzie catalog. Underneath the artificial water I used a rock base gravel ( I call it crush ) real fine gravel and air brushed it with 4 different colors to give it a murky muddy color.

well it worked because that looks exactly like the marsh water I waded in all duck season ,green brown ,soup!!!you should try to make a small ripple on the water as though your ducks just got out, and put some duckweed on their toes and webbing.

Where did you get that big plant on the right?  I think it's some type of bladderwort or something?
