scales sheding on python when skinning

I just got a green python in today. It was shipped to me in a well insulated styrafoam container and supposedly with dry ice. It spent from Tues. when he dropped it off until Monday--7 days USPS. I was told it would be shipped out UPS or Fedex--little late now. It was cool when it arrived and didin't have any unusal odors. I've skinned it and put in stop rot. The scales are comming off in large amounts, but the skin seems to be ok. I asked if it was in the process of sheding and the guy was not sure, but didn't think it was. I know when it drys that over a period of time I have to remove the scales anyway. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did the mount turn out. Do I need to do something more or should I be ok. Hate to lose it--hard to come by.
thanks,
Scott

It happens frequently. Like you said they will come off in the end anyway. not a big deal. wont affect the mount. Post photos when you finish it please. Tree pythons and tree boas are hard to come by.

Thanks for the info. Not a large snake--4 ft. Was told it was 7. Still trying to get adjustment for size.
