hi every one have a question,, Huh Huh Huh Huh
how do you rehydrate a wet tanned mounted bear,and be safe,,
need to re do the mount,,its badly done ,,but dont know exactly how,,
its about a year old,,,mount,,,pretty sure it was wet tanned,,,
just want to be safe,,,
all help is appreciated,,

I would start with a portion of the animal first to see if it is going to fall apart. start with an area that wont be seen on the mount.Use some luke warm water . then
if it falls apart you can stop the process.Look for an area where it is sewn up under a leg .slowly start puting a small amount of water on it and work your way out.
If it is holding together good then expand outward.get it wet and then bag it overnight.Then start taking the stitches out. This could turn to a mess real fast depending on what they used for adhesive. Good Luck.   Jon

i put a head in the tub and forgot about it overnight once           no problems       buckeye glue and trubond
