Enter what ever you want to excell at, Go with the attitude that you want to take your best work and get it judged and see where you need to improve on. Your next you can add what you learned.... If you get a ribbon great if not you know where you went wrong. Just Enter and enjoy the learning curve.

Just like they said before, go in with an open mind and DO NOT turn around and run after seeing all the great mounts in the show room. I almost did that a couple years ago I said what the hell am I doing here, this is way out of my league. Well little did I know I was not competing against those Masters and Professionals,  I was in the Amateur group. Needless to say I came away with a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd place and best of category. Many people say that does not mean anything in the amateur group but it did to me and I wanted to do better next round. The following year I got a 1st and a 3rd in the professional and a best of category at 2 different states shows. So just do it and learn as much as you can. There is a wealth of knowledge at these shows just as long as the ego's stay outside the doors the shows run smooth. Good luck,
Regards, Geno

I'm bringing 1-2 deer to the MTA show. Its my first time competing and only my 3rd and 4th mounts. That's what i'm trying to get "good" at first so that's what I am bringing to get a good critique on. Bring whatever you can. If I had other stuff done i'd bring them too. That's just me, I figure i'm going to be there anyway, why not bring something!
