I suppose I will move from destruction to construction within the next few days.  I'm tired of people, tales, and dead deer with their tongues hanging out, LOL!   I did take in some true trophies right at the end of the season.  According to our meteorologist, La Nina has the weather all screwed up this winter.  Heat and humidity right in the middle of our rut kept deer and hunters both confused.  I don't have quiet as many shoulder mounts as usual, but there is a helluva pile of skulls in my cooler to make up for it.  In the words of that great 20th century philosopher Jed Clampett, I've got a "rat smart" of catching up to do in the next few months!

I hear you Joey, I am still getting heads in and will probably get a few stragglers till summer rolls around. My numbers were up this year and they knocked down some giants. I will finally get some of them together here soon. Tannery called and I have just a few coming back!(LOL)

I know what you mean.  We only operate the shop from January to whenever we get done, so I was ready to stop hunting and start mounting.  We took in quite a bit more this year and have a lot to do!  Hubby is retiring from his full time job and I will keep working full time and doing taxi work on the side.

We may get in a few more small animals but probably no more deer for this year.  Ready to make a dent in this pile of WORK!

A couple weeks left in the central Florida area and in some areas the bucks are chasing hard.  Numbers are up in from last year in the shop I work at.  Despite the warm weather it seems that a few more people went on trips to GA  or up north.

Deer numbers are down in the state but I took in more than ever. I did turn down some new customers this year. I only want to commit so many hours to an second job and have more than enough mad money for the year already.

I agree whole heartily. You get tired of that part after awhile. Hard to get stuff out when it is always coming in!
I have finally taken on an employee to help out around here, WTD were down slightly, but more foreign trophies came in..
