Well I started with an old deer manikin. Took measurements from carcass and started on the band saw, then rasp,
then a little sanding with the dremel. It's roughright now, but a little more sanding and I'm good to go.
Probably had about 2 hours in the restoration. This was a smaller fellow, 14" nose to base of tail.
I'll do a little clay work and make all the junctions smooth prior to mounting.

started with a deer manikin like you see:

Collateral damage after band saw and trimming with a knife.

Semi-completed form:

I should of made a quick tutorial of it for the new guys, but there's plenty of tutorials on here showing exactly how.
Right front foot looks odd in pictures, but is ok in real life. Will need to round out back area some more too I see.
Back to work, It's mounting season around here. Will show pics of completed Porcupine.

I have a few manikins around from remounts done in the past. Most of them didn't have a drop of glue on them.
Nice to have around when you need a porcupine that would have to be altered no matter what.
The majority of the old manikins usually become fish bodies, but more than occasionally a critter gets built out of one.
Scraps will be used for rocks on other projects. Recycling = less money spent.
