While this is not a Bobcat, I do this  for about every animal that I use earliners on.. I take all my measurments, then place my liners in the right spot, Trace them with a sharpie, dremel out a 1/4" to 1/2" deep (pocket), Making the groove in the form a tad bigger than the actual liner giving me a bit of room either way once the skin goes on.. I clay the head,  instal the liners into the ears.. Blend a small amout of clay on the back of the liners that i will blend to the form once the skin is installed..  ive used the same technique on Lynx.. Mainly for canines and bears though.. I find that with out doing this. the ears sit way to high on the head giving the antennae effect commonly seen..  Wink

Here is a Ear liner traced o na wolf Pedestal..

The clay put into the holes, alowing me to bed the earliners in at the correct angle, etc.. Sometimes if I get a animal that I cant access from the back, ill build the earbutts to the earliners.. then slip the liners out, insert in the ear and glue.. slide the skin on dropping the earliners back into the respectable holes.. Make sense?

Here is a example Im talking about on a bear.. Since its cased, and tight to the head, nor dorsal cut.. I cant access the ears once i slide the skin on.. By building the ear butts first you can pop out the liners and pop em right back into the holes after glue is applied..  Lots of examples of this in the forms with out hide thread i believe..

You did Mike but the memory fades. The only reason I posted in the first place is that no cranky old "no it alls" showed up so I thought the least I could do was step up.They must be napping.

I promise I'll get more clay now that I remember where it goes.

Ahh, now it's all coming back to you...LOL....Too funny! Hope all is well over in Big Sky Country. Wink
