I have an elk skull that was cleaned somewhere else and was sent to me for "degreasing". The skull looks like it was boiled to death is the texture is starting to flake. I have done all I can do and the only option I can see is to paint it to somewhat smooth it out and make it look decent. With that said what paints have you used to completely paint a skull. This is not a touch up but a complete paint. I want it to look as good as possible but I have never painted a skull before. I have looked at the McKenzie online but not sure what color or product to get for a natural bone look.

one cool thing to do is to buy copper metalic spray paint made by rustolium and Minwax dark ebony stain and apply 6 coats of paint, once dry cover skull with stain and wipe off as much stain as you can and the stain stays in the cracks looks awsome. just an idea

use BIN PRIMER red can from home depot, i use it all the time on skulls for touch up or complete paint job if necessary,   you wont find any paint that will match the skull color any better
