Whats with the hair on left jaw? Hair should be groomed down not back. Kinda looks that you have that going on the neck as well. That and it appears to have almost 0 eyelashes. It is a nice looking mount though IMO. 3bears

3bears- if you look at the last picture you  can see eye lashes pointing down over the left eye like they should.

Nice mount for #5, grooming seems to be the biggest problem i see. Keep up the good work.

He does have eyelashes but not many. He also has scars all over his face making the hair do weird things, but I went back and brushed his left jaw hair down as good as it would. Where else could the grooming be improved?

I would go back and groom his hair and try to smooth the transition into his brisket in a couple of places. I would also work on trying to get the hair at the base of the ear butts smoothed out. I would groom the crease where the head and neck come together, it looks like there may be a small wrinkle causing the hair to lay like it is. Lastly i would take a small brush and back brush his chin so the hair stands up just a bit. Other than that you did a very nice job.

I agree, looks pretty nice, but needs alot of grooming as mentioned. One place not mentioned that will really change the look is the forehead. You have the hair pattens running to the back of the head and they should be running  out to the front portion of the eyes. Water shede occurs naturally on top of the head and the hair patterns should follow suit.

Ya I saw the few on the left eye but can't see any lashes on right one. To me it looks like the hair on the shoulders it combed more back than down and it caused a line. It is most visible on the first pic. I may be nit picking but it just jumped out at me. Still an attractive mount. 3bears

Should the grooming be done while the mount is still wet? Most of the hair, especially on the shoulders, just bounces right back to where it is.

I groom constantly as the mount dries where ever it is needed. Once the skin has dried it makes it hard to groom the hair into position. I believe you could take your brush and lightly brush the hair down on the shoulders. Brushing down on the shoulders will give them a softer look rather than the combed look.

As a begininer myself i have to ask how did you get this good in five mounts?
what kind of training have you had.
books, video, school
the reason i ask is i would like to get on the road you are on.

Looks good to me. Something about the ear shape that I just don't know what it is. I think they look good but just not a shape that i have seen before. Might be that the tip of the ear does not tip back. Keep posting pics as you mount more I look forward to see how much better you can be as time goes on.
