did my first habitat ever. doing it for a beaver mount. the problem i have is i poured polytrans water to make the water scene and the edges where the water thins out and meets the dirt the water cured up and now looks like sh*t!!!! the base has sand and pet moss mixed with wood glue. all was going great until it started to kick! its only on the side where the water meets the dirt.
what did i do wrong and how can i fix it or cover it up?  ill try and post pictures but i never did before so give me a chance!

don't see why you can't cover it up....if resin is soaking into areas ....seal it first to prevent soaking in

I don't look like it soaked in curled upward but maybe it did!!!  I was think to pour another thin layer and see what happens. Just wanted some feedback first

Maybe I could but I have this gap as you can see where the silver look is.  So I think I will do another pour to fill that gap and cover it. I hope! Unless someone else has a better idea???

Why can't you just cover up that part with dirt? Or some grasses, etc.  Huh Huh

Its because Polyester resin shrinks when it its poured thick and generates lots of heat, especially over loose particles. I would never suggest using that for a pour like that. Use envirotex, Ultraglo or Crystalclear. As far as fixing your problem, make sure first its fully cured. No tackiness. I would use a dremel to cut out the lifted parts. You could do a little airbrushing or just remove the bad areas. Pour a coat of Envirotex or similiar product over it. At this point your just adding more depth to your peice which will look better anyway Smiley.

Yea, I seen this stuff!!! So this don't shrink like poly water? Looks little cheaper too!! Any down falls to this over poly water? If the is better along the lines of not shrinking on large pours, is it better just to use this all the time and not use poly water at all? Or different application is one better then the other? Some personal feedback would be great!!!
