I have recently sealed a skull with Krylon Matte when I figured it was grease free.  After sealing it, I am noticing a small spot on the top of the skull. Definitely grease.  My question is, can I soak it in acetone to strip off the sealer? If so, will it hurt the skull any?  I would like to strip the Krylon off and then put it back into my Dawn but have never had to do this before.  I don't want to screw the skull up any.  If its a done deal, I will leave it.  Thoughts/advice please?

Acetone. Let it sit for a week. Then back into Dawn. Acetone will also help break up the grease in the bone.

It won't hurt the skull any Sea Wolf?  It's only been sealed less than a day.  I wouldn't want any bone degradation.  Kind of a nice buck and would like it pristine for my a family member.  Still learning by the way..... Thanks for the reply

3 years ago, I bought 3 gallons of acetone @ $15 a gallon for degreasing. I have to say that I still have and am using that same 3 gallons. If you take care of it and store it properly, it is not expensive when you do the math.
