well the 1st mistake i made was not putting my yote and fox in bags for the freezer. took them out last night to start thawing and looked at them this morning. the yote is ok may be thin in the neck. it was shedding bad. and the fox Sad ear is slipping! not the hair but the layer of skin the hair is on and it got ripped some how.. is this fixable? i dont know how to upload pics or i would upload them. i have tanned over 15 fox and some i have left on the porch in cold weather thawed in a warm garage and skinned tanned and never had ear slippage..no slippage actually lol but thats my luck! any help would be great beacuse if its ruined fox season is over. yotes i can still hunt them to try for a fuller one. but i have a nother skin but its bottom lip is cut off thats how ya do them to sell. would there be any way i could just cut the bottom lip off the uglier one and put it on the better onne? it would take some percision cutting and sewing but i think it could be done.

From my experience, you've just led a sheltered life.  With canids and cats, they get skinned when they come in the shop.  Regardless of what I'm doing, they get skinned.  Then they are sprayed with Stop Rot (ESPECIALLY THE EARS AND BELLY).  These critters have ear  and belly slippage just for looking at them.

the yote is the one thats hair is not great below the ear. not bald but not full. i think i will transplant that lip to the nicer one already skinned in the freezer. the fox is the one thats hair on its ear is slippin.

Mange makes their hair fall out, not their skin slip. You don't see much mange in late winter.
