Skulls with a story.
«

I am looking for deformed or injured skulls. By this I mean during the life of said animal they were attacked, either by human or other animals and survived the encounter. So anything from bite marks to bullet holes, with signs of healing, would be great. Would prefer skulls of predatory species, but prey might be interesting as well.
Thanks for the help,
Ian

Got a jaw of a deer that had a stick the size of your small finger in between two teeth. Also a Grizzly with a double 00 buchshot pellet inbedded in his lower jaw. The bone has grown around the pellet about 75 % of the way.

The Grizzly sounds interesting. Have any pictures? What are you asking for it?

Its not a skull but I have a whitetail scapula that has a rage two blade mechanical broadhead that got stuck halfway through it. It was completely healed and encapsulated in scar tissue. This Buck also had an antler shot off. The bullet went through the ear before it hit the base of the antler. He wasn't so lucky the third time. If you are interested make me an offer.
I also thought you might like to see the picture of this bear skull with the lower jaw broken in half. It is a really old wound that wouldn't heal. The root of a tooth is exposed there is a lot calcification on both sides of the break. The teeth are worn really bad due to the misalignment. Unfortunately it belongs to my 5 year old and he wants "a million dollars" or he wont sell it.

I will have to think about the scapula some. Very cool though.
That bear is very cool. Just think how strong that bear must have been to put up with that pain.
I am glad your son likes it. Thank you for sharing!

I have a hog skull where the hog was shot in head with a broadhead and had healed up and made interesting regrowth. Skin was not damaged so was an old wound

I would love to see the Bobcats with bite wounds and the one with a crush injury with prices and an example of the shot wound. And maybe a Coyote with bite marks if you have one.
Thank you!

packing a skull order today I found a big coon with a crooked lower jaw and could see an old wound all healed and a hole of sorts in the upper. I set it aside. have also 15-20 coyotes that are so old they are gummers, like 15 year old coyotes, or older, dieing of old age types. teeth all gone or wore to the nubbins.

This is the skull of a black bear boar,in his teens, that was bitten by another bear. One canine punctured the skull above the eye,the lower canines crushed the zygomatic arch.Though the wound was several months old,the zygomatic arch hadn't fused, due to jaw movement.I'm sure I killed the bear that did it,the following Spring. It was a bigger, cinnamon bear, also in his teens.I have trail camera pictures of him alive. It was professionally cleaned and has all the fine nasal bones intact.
