What is the trick to keeping you paint to stick to this stuff when repairing tines?I have tried oils and acrylcs an neither seem to stay on.

FixIt is epoxy based. Epoxy rejects water and oils and will not stick where either is present (or in your case, the the reverse). Use lacquer based paints.

Check out Cole's tutorial on antler repair. He first used a lacquer base coat and then used oil paint over that. That is your solution.

You can paint over the dried epoxy sculpt with acrylic paints. I have not tried other mediums over epoxy sculpt...so there could be other mediums that will also work.

Will a wood stain, such as minwax, work on it?
