I just purchased some second to nature bird bodies.  These bodies were once formerly Dan Chase bodies.  I recently mounted up a hooded merganser with one and noticed the bodies are very hard and almost impenetrable to pins and wire.  I had to take a small steel punch and make holes for the wires.  I usually place pins at certain locations but the hardness of the bodies have prevented me from doing so.  Has anybody else experience "hard" foam bodies from second to nature?
