Back in 2002 I sent a customer's Indiana state record musky to Starfish replicas to have it molded, (42 lbs. 8 oz.), I got a free blank out of it to finish for the customer, and they sent the fish back to be skin mounted, which I also did for the customer.

Recently a local musky guide that offers a free musky replica for a client if he catches and releases a 50 plus inch musky got his first taker. The only blank we could find as a match with both similar length and girth was the state record blank.  Actually the released fish is 1/2 inch longer than the state record.

Starfish did a awesome job as you can see on the molding and the detail! If you want a blank of a really nice musky it's listed in their catalog as MUS54L.

Anyway I'd thought I'd share the blank just before painting and the finished product. Client is on the left and the guide on the right. Box with peanuts is how the blank was shipped and the finished replica transported to a sport show.

Really nice job on that musky. I really like the subtle underlying skin tones, especially in the belly area. Very realistic looking...
