What is your method of painting duck feet? Just looking for some tips to painting feet without getting paint on the feathers. How many remove feet and inject/paint them before mounting?

When I'm doing birds, my first option is to tube cut bird and remove the legs and feet. That allows me to wire them, pose them and let them dry. When dry, I paint and seal them and when I'm ready to mount the bird, everything is done.
