Just got my most recent shipment, and realized I forgot to order dextrin, and need some in a hurry.  Is there a local type store that sells it?  I have also seen a recipe online in the pyrotechnic world to make your own by baking corn starch.  Anyone every try making your own when in a pinch?

you have a feed/grain store nearby? You might be able to pick some up there.

Yeah, I am not far from town, have a Menards, Home Depot, Farm & Fleet, and a couple of feed stores. I just wasn't sure they would handle it, and it is a little late to be calling at this hour.  Thought I would tap into the vast knowledge on TaxiNet.  Grin

Years ago, when I was in the building materials business, we carried a dry wallpaper paste that had dextrine as the main ingredient. I don't know if that sort of thing is still around, but it might be worth checking into.

I searced you tube and found some tutorials on how to make dextrin.
Wasn't really happy with the results.
Made the wife mad as hell cause it made the house stink and fired up her allergies.
I don't think it worked as well as the dextrin i purchased either.
