WING"TIPS" #8 Bone repair
«

Hello, Here is another ''quick'' tip. It's been covered by some in the past and really is not a ''new'' technique but I thought photos might help some, Basically take the damaged area ,remove the flesh and clean throughly, Remove the marrow, run appropriately sized wires down the damaged bone, cement the wires to the bone with super glue and borax, then On this repair I chose to put a roll of excelsior between the two damaged bones and black taped the two together to keep shape and strength to the area since it was a flying bird. The super glue/ borax combo works GREAT to bond two ares together be it skull, wingbone etc.I will try to photograph other repairs as time allows as there are many techniques which work best in different situations. GOOD LUCK

One thing that is really amazing is that that the super glue gel will crystallize after it comes in contact with the borax. Makes it nice and strong and you don't have to worry about glue on the skin or feathers. Great tip again Wingman!

One thing to be carefully with using this method . If you get super glue on your fingers and then borax, it " WILL" burn like the dickens, possably even blister. Great tool though. Ü
Great Tip Wingman, Thanks

Thanks Wingman. I've heard of the superglue/borax cement before but never seen it used. Great photos!!

Just another Idea I had this past week end I used some shrink tubing and it worked like a charm. I have also used just rubber tubing and heated it up till I could slide it onto the bone as well to make first bne repairs, so I had a place to set the wing wires.
Just another random thought that worked.
