was wondering if I can use whitetail eyes for muley mounts or are they allot different looking? Looked on McKenzies site and from the pics they look very similiar to a w/t eye. This is my first muley so I do not know, trying to place my order for the week. Thanks for any help Rick

Commercial wt eyes are just fine. Competition judge may or may not ding ya for it. I've had one judge ding a md then the next not (maybe he didn't notice I don't know).

Most people use a dark eye for Mulies. If you want to get technical the mule deer tends to have a muddy looking white band area. This can be added to any Tohickon IQ, Forward Look, Optech, Meder Eye, or even the Quantum-VX for another $1.75. Otherwise a dark eye is fine. Now there are some in the industry who claim that the eye in a mule deer is actually not dark at all and they may be right. They can vary depending on local genetics. Hope that helps.
