A coopers hawk and morning dove. My friend John Abel and myself completed this piece for the Texas Parks and, Wildlife. This was a fun project to work on one that almost never happened. The hawk was chasing the dove and both birds were killed when they hit the baydoor window at the fire station where I worked. I contacted the chief gamewarden in Ft Worth and updated him with the facts and he told me to discard both birds. I advised him that I knew the law regarding protected birds but this would be such a waste for these beautiful birds. I told him I would donate my time and labor to perserve the specimens. He agreed and then took the information and sent me the nesassary paperwork/permit to possess the protected hawk. The piece was completed and is now on display at the Parks and Wildlife office in Ft Worth for people to enjoy for years to come. Paul
