On behalf of Kathie and our family we thank all of you for the kind thoughts and the value of prayer! It has been a long month to say the least however it reminds us here that life is short and the greatest gift of all is to live your lives as it is meant to be lived to the fullest! I have been away for a month or so working a challenging project I have been blessed to be with friends during this time who have worked with me and a lot of time helped me get my head back in to the game when it was lost in sadness so for that I’m grateful to have such friends! I write this to you not for thoughts of sadness but to be reminded that you are like me and we all have moments where we sadness takes a hold and squeezes to the point where we forget the comfort that we all can have in faith. This past month I have been taken a back by the deaths of my last Grandfather, He live a long 87 year life and was blessed with 59 years of marriage, also a close and dear childhood friend who passes suddenly from a brain aneurism, also my great friend Mountain Ed’s mom who was a dear friend and a inspiration to any who know here and lastly Kathie’s Dad my father in law. That’s a lot of death in a short time frame to say the least. For those of us who have lost parents it is different kind of feeling and loss. I can imagine that it is different yet again for the loss of a father to a daughter or a mother to a son. It is one of the toughest things to loos a parent as your life will from that day forward feel different in may ways. It is Kathie’s first of losses of a parent and the kindness you have all shared means so very much to her! She has read all that is written and has expressed to me that it is unbelievable to her that folks she doesn’t hardly know or in the case of folks she doesn’t know at all share so much love and thoughtfulness toward this family! Kathie’s gratitude and admiration is warmly sent back to this community of great folks! I laughed however yesterday in spite of it all as I remembered my mentor and dearest friend Richard Christoforo who I always tease as the “grim reaper” as he attends more wakes and funerals then any one I have ever known. I laugh because it is an honor to be remembered and to be held in respect to have those pay respect to ones life! I though how sad he must be going to all those service but I know him enough to know he does it to share in the honor of ones life and not to reflect in sadness only. Though we share in sadness some times in life we have the greatest gift of all in that we have a life that is worth living and should live it to the best of our abilities! I feel a little better writing this to a community of friends and folks that are like family to me! Yes the taxidermy community is a great one as we are those who love life enough to respect and honor the nature we see! It may be that a empty person make a look at 4 walls a day and think how crummy their lives are doing what they do for a living but it is a choice just like living a life! We may never be rich in the sense of monetary worth bit we are wealthy in friendship and spirit, as we are taxidermists and the keeper of the historical perseveration of fauna! I value as well does my family the community we share in as taxidermist here on the T-net.
On behalf of my family and myself I greatly and sincerely thank you for the kindness and the prayers!
