Tan them... Otherwise look into mp's advice on using stop rot with dp.

If you have a spritz bottle, put some denatured alcohol in an spray the whole animal, let it set for about 30 min and do it again. Do it 3 or 4 times. That should kill what bacteria is there and dont touch it till it dries.
As far as the smell I have no idea, if you fleshed and washed it good, I don't know what it could be.

The smell is the hide rotting with the DP until it can dry.

Did you switch to a hidepaste that might not be suitable for DP'd hides?

If you are having any hair slippage or odor with DP (or anything else for that matter) you did something wrong. If that hide is properly thinned it will not slip even with NOTHING on it. My guess is it was not properly fleshed and perhaps you used a very wet water based hide paste.

X2. The "hair falling out"
Are you pulling hair out? That is normal for DP if yore yanking on it.

I agree. If you want it to dry fast, stick it in a closet with an electric heater. But truth be told, you did something wrong

Spent my whole life lookin' back
Not lookin' ahead to see
Trying to keep my feet on track
Doin' what was expected of me
Kick my shoes off so they can't trace me
Leave no forwarding address
Before they all drive me crazy
And I leave 'em all in a bloody mess
