I'M REALLY HAVING A TOUGH TIME FLESHING MY SECOND BOAR SKIN. IT HAS EXTREMELY TOUGH SHIELDING AND NOTHING I HAVE SEEMS TO WANT TO SOFTEN
IT SO I CAN SHAVE IT. I EVEN SOAKED IT FOR 24 HOURS IN DEGREASER HOPING TO SOFTEN THESE LARGE THICK HARD FAT AREAS. ANY SUGESTIONS WOULD BE
APPRECIATED. I HAVENT TRIED A WIRE BRUSH ON A GRINDER YET BUT THAT IS NEXT. SO FAR I HAVE SPENT ABOUT 6 HOURS TRYING TO THIN THIS DOWN. MY
FIRST HOG WHICH WAS MINE, I SALTED FOR FIVE DAYS BEFORE SHAVING. IT WAS VERY EASY TO SHAVE BUT THIS ONE I'M NOW WORKING ON, I THOUGHT IT
BEST TO DEGREASE FIRST. WOULD SALTING FIRST HAVE MADE THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE?

Salting would only make it harder. Dont waste your time looking for a magic easy way to flesh off a shield. There aint none. Get a beam & a SHARP 2 handled knife like a necker & have at it. thats the easy way.

You'll have to cut all the shield off before salting, degreasing or anything.  I'm surprised it hasn't slipped with you soaking it so long.  Do yourself a favor and buy Rick Carter's Hog DVD.

     As stated above you made a lot of work for yourself by salting it before fleshing, live and learn, next one you will know better!
