And did you just buy this one item? The ONLY time I order one thing is if I really screwed up and missed something and I'm in a pinch. Otherwise, I make about a half dozen orders a year if that. Not to state the obvious, but proper planning will offset those shipping charges by spreading out the cost amongst dozens or hundreds of items. And sometimes when I order I MAY order extra supplies that I don't need simply because I know I'm going to need them down the road. Hardwood panels for instance are large and heavy. I know I'm going to get hit with a decent shipping charge when I order only one of them. But, I also know that sometime in the future I'm going to need some 20" walnut oval panels and I'll order a couple more.
I DO understand where you're coming from and I probably wouldn't ask up front what the charges are going to be either because I need the supplies either way. Lesson learned. Order more supplies in the future and that $30 shipping charge won't hurt as much when you order $300 or $400 bucks in supplies...

Thank you Fish Art, I believe you get it. It was one of those " dang I forgot to order that" so I really just ordered and didnt think twice about it.
I could argue with a couple of other post on hear but I have better things to do than copy a post and argue each point

Good thinking, you'd better get to work to help pay for that freight.

Called in a order to Research Mannikins on Monday, received it today. Basically 4 lifesize bobcat forms, 4 sets of eyes, 4 sets of earliners, and 2 bases. The bases are $50.35 each, my total shipping was $41.79.....so a rough breakdown of $10 on shipping per bobcat mount. I can live with that!
Kerby...

Took a box to go to Alaska yesterday, $104. Took it to the post office, $96. Went through all the options and it may take 10-14 days to get there, but I got the shipping down to $22.
