I have a guy wanting to sell a set of sheds he found a couple years ago. They are real heavy and fresh no chews or fading. He had them scored and with a 19 inch spread credit they score 205 gross and 197 net as nontypicle and net 181 as a clean ten point frame. They have 22 points total most are junk around the basses and a few stickers. What could he expect to get out of them??

I am not sure of the value would be but if he decides not to charge too much I am looking for a set to display on a lifesize in my shop.

I'll buy them if I can but I think he thinks over 1000 on value no way. I'm just looking for input so I can convince him.

lol i wouldnt pay a grand even for the world record rack because i know in a year i could buy a molded version if there wasnt a new one. antlers are a dime a dozen and there are hundreds of deer farms that sell well above 180 class bucks. you wont have a problem finding a decent set of antlers if he wont drop dramtically in price

You never know what he can get if he finds the right collector.  I am a collector of large antlers and I hit the outdoor shows when I am trying to sell an antler or two.  People are going to those shows with spending money in their pockets and with all of the giant racks on display someone is going to jump at a big set of antlers for sale...Even if he doesn't find a buyer there he may run into someone who can point him into the right direction...
Good luck to him!

He called last night to say he had an offer of 1000 for them. They are very impressive but I couldn't beat that one so I told him to sell them.

Being that he found them, $10 would be a profit. There is a market for everything, and I am sure someone will go nuts over that rack and pay what ever is in his wallet and then some, when others would never pay that much. It is all a perceived value. What the buyer thinks it is worth to him, when to others it isn't worth that much.

Tell him you'll pay $15 a pound for them,  That's more than the market value, I'm sure if he want's to sell them, why keep begging you to buy them if he already has an offer larger than you can afford.  Deer make more deer every year and antlered deer make antlers, If you want a set like that, they will come around if you don't get these.

I have them at the shop now with score sheet and cam tracker pictures of him the next summer. He owes me money for mounts and dropped them for me to hold as collateral. I'd say there mine now. There probably the best antlers off a wild deer I'll ever see around here too much hunting pressure. And poaching. They have 6 1/2 basses and keep the mass all the way to the end.  Iowa buck in southern Indiana
