I have a cape where the ears are eaten off on the tips, they are rounded and about an inch shorter than normal, would it be a good idea to use it like it is,or replace the ears from another deer, cut off and sew back on or trash it,if sew back on where would be a good place to make the cut,at the head?Other than this it is fine condition and abig buck. All input will be gladly accepted.

Personally I'd chuck it if its not going to look like a normal deer (now I haven't seen the capeso just saying). People who come and have a remount or need a cape are paying for it and expect to have a normal nice looking cape in return. I look every cape over good I buy to make sure its something I can use or sell to another taxi. If you want to replace the ears you could do so if you have an already junk cape or a euro head people drop off but then its a matter of is it worth your time (money) to do so or just save that time (money) and buy another cape.

Mount it for your showroom, makes a great way to explain to clients what looks correct and what does not!

I would have to see a pick, but I wouldn't throw it out, especially if it's a big cape. Is it just ticking that has caused this? Sounds like it's not a big deal and it's part of the animal. I would like to see it if you decide to trash it
