My brother came home on leave, to hunt Elk with Dad and I.  while sitting on a pass in Idaho, BOO BOO came walking up to him. At 15 yards away My brother shot this bear. its not the biggest but it was his first. (bow Kill) My brother only wanted a rug made. But I thought I would like to do more for him. I started this bear 6 years ago. I have never mounted an animal by my self. So, with only instructions from a friend this is what my bro will get.

looks very nice but from this angle it would be hard to give you any real critiques for you to improve.

it looks very nice especially for a first, the thing that stands out to me the most is there is too much gum showing in the mouth but this can be rehydrated and easily tucked some more if you wanted to.

I did not know if I could rehydrate the hide around the mouth or not. the mouth sliped on me and I did not catch it right away. thats why I placed the branch into his mouth. how would be the best way to do somthing like that?

im a fish guy so I dont really know anything about mammal mounts, but it looks like you could have used some more clay in the eyebrow area... just my opinion. overall though it is a beautiful mount, im sure that your brother will be thrilled with it.
