little ears?
«

i know this has been talked about before and i have searched the topic pretty hard and didnt find much...
when it comes to little animal ears such as bobcat and fox, what do you use to glue the ears to the earliner?
i am know about bondo, and i read Codi uses fiberglass, but i was wondering if you guys do anything different that you think works best.
thanks!

because i normally use bondo for my deer ears because i can get away with them being a little thinker than norm... but on bobcats i was hoping to get the ears to look thinner and more natural..

You can get a decent bobcat ear w/ Bondo too.

This ought to get George riled but, Bondo wasn't designed to be used as an adhesive but it has pretty good adhesive properties. It wasn't intended to be used in taxidermy either. Can it fail? Yes, but so can epoxy. In general, it seems to work fine for a glue. I wouldn't use it to glue plastic earliners in though, just my preference. Adhering to plastic seems to be a weakness that it has. Learned from my time as an auto body tech. 3bears

I was not saying use it as an earliner glue. I was suggesting it can be used instead of a liner.

So try whatever you like this time; try something different next time. Experience will make you a better taxidermist. Don't be afraid.

I know you weren't Cole. The original post asked about what to use as an adhesive for earliners. I was just clarifying in case he got some idea from the post about bondo as an adhesive. 3bears
