I am just now applying for my migratory bird taxidermy permit and am trying to figure out the best ways of keeping records on these species, since it is a little different than game animal requirements.  First of all, I was wondering if I could get a picture, or basic lay-out, of the tags you guys are using that stay on the bird.

Thank you,

~Gus

I make my own because I prefer to have the lines going across the short direction rather than lengthwise. It really doesn't matter - it's just my preference.
The initial cost was kinda steep because I paid to have a custom rubber stamp made, but it was a one-time only expense. About 35-40 dollars, I think, (?) but it was many years ago.
Since then, I use ordinary luggage tags and stamp them as needed.  I bought a huge package of them on sale several years ago, and I have so many blank tags that I will die of old age before I can ever use them all up.

I make my own. You just have to make sure it has all the necessary info on it. Had no issues when warden checked me. As well as log book with corresponding tag numbers. Sorry don't have a pic of the yellow tags. Check supply websites. 3bears

Thank you guys!  I am planning on making my own for now, mainly because I will be doing so few that it is not worth the expense at this point.  I will look at the links and see what all I need to have on the tag itself.  As far as the record book, can't I just use the same filed paper work from my mammals with a corresponding project number in my file and on the tag?

Thanks again,

~Gus

I combined all my state info with federal info on thecwall tag. In our state there are some extra requirements for state stuff but if everything is on there you won't have a problem. Just make sure your inventory always matches your log book and you'll be
. make sure each tag has a signature. No signature is like no tag at all. I was just checked for the first time last week
