soft tanning cow hides

Ok I'm new to tanning but I get lots of cow hides and was wandering what yall prefer on pickling agents,tanning chemicals and oil just trying to see what I need to buy to do one any help will be appreciated

Ive soft tanned back half on deer and foxes and yotes just never a cow that's why I was asking

If you have access to lots of them you could try cutting them down to manageable pieces and go from there. My earlier comment was in reference to working with a full size cow hide.
With the smaller pieces you could get a feel for the skin and how it shaves, and you will see a big dfference from a deer or fox.

Lots of info in the Archives. If you do cow hides , you will earn them. Lots of back breaking labor .
