Wow its already February and I have to apologize for being late this month. I have been in Florida at their state show judging. I must say it was a good show. Everything about it was good. It was nice to meet so many new people. My wife and I felt very welcomed and right at home. The banquet food was very good and the auction and awards ceremony were as good as they get at a show. I must say that the Florida members support their state Association very well. There were several items that sold for twice as much as you can buy them for and it was good to see that kind of support during times like we are having with our economy. That said alot to me about the Florida State Taxidermy Association and how it is being run. If you ever get a chance to attend please do so.  I will be leaving in a couple of hours to go to Nashville for the NWTF convention and from what I'm hearing it will have close to 100 mounts. For some reason this show had really struggled in the recent past and is starting to become one of the best shows for Deer and Turkeys again. The last few years it has grown every year and they will have a couple of new Guys running it this year and hopefully it will continue to grow. If you get a chance to come please do so and you will be impressed. In the future if you are interested in competing you have to pre registrar so make plans to attend next year. It will be in Nashville for the next few years and its a great place to Market yourself as well. I hope everyone is mounting turkeys and has lots of pictures this month. We are done with our birds from last year and are waiting for this years season to begin. My son will have the opportunity to complete his world slam this year as we are scheduled to go for his Osceola and his Gould if he can pull those two off he will be the youngest person in history to achieve his world slam. He just turned seven and I have had a wonderful time taking him turkey hunting and it has been great to see him do so well at such a young age. He has killed eight birds so far and I have no doubt that if he gets a shot at his other birds to complete his slam he will kill them. If you ever get a chance to take a kid hunting make it happen and you will be blessed. I want to thank everyone for posting pictures in the past and encourage those that haven't to do so. This thread is great and I am glad to be a part of it. If any of you have questions about turkeys or any other birds please don't hesitate to call and I will try to lead you in the right direction. I am by no means an expert but I enjoy helping others.

Thanks again for letting me do this each month.
Don't be afraid to ask questions and please post pictures of you work for others to enjoy.

Thanks Brett and Terri D.

Awesome. Good luck with the turkey hunting and it's a great thing to take a young kid out and show them the outdoors. I hope to be packing a youth around for our youth hunt if I can find some birds.
Take it easy, ya'll be safe in your travels and I will look forward to seeing ya'll at the AR show next week!
