Hi
What do you like to use for artificial snow?  I would like to have a whitetail with some snow on its antlers, the top of its head and on the branches next to it.  Where is a good place to get artificial snow?
Thanks,
Steve

The best snow is the shaved foam. You can get it through most supply co. or shave a foam ball yourself. Use polly batting as a base the spray a clear contact spray on it sprinkle the foam on the polly fill batting and mist lightly with fish gloss. It will give you a nice deep fluffy natural snow.Thin layers can be done on the deer the same way. spray and sprinkle where you want it. Polly fill can be used if you want it to look thicker.

I get mine from Al Holmes supply. It's the most natural I've found. Simple to use: mist some water on antler, apply snow with flour sifter, lightly mist snow again, and reapply more snow (if you want a built-up look). They also give you a bag of glitter to add to the snow if you choose.

You can buy artificial snow for almost any supplier. I like to use an Elmer's spray glue adhesive. You simply spray and apply. If making a pedestal base you can use Dacron fluff or pillow stuffing and glue to the base, once all of the Dacron is glued spray and apply snow. You may have to repeat this step 2 or 3 time's. This will give you a snow scene with deeper snow in it. Good Luck, Jim

Very realistic snow. It looks like what I see for 5 months.  LOL

Van Dykes also carries a dry mix in a bag and I really like the realism it has. Very easy to use and you can build layers if you like combined with the Elmers spray glue.

WASCO and some spray adhesive that shoots a mist not a stream. Try it in the store before you buy. Yeah they hate me! But works great, will stick to weeds and all.

You do realize any "snow" that is not protected from dust will look like crap in the future and you won't be able to clean it up right? I will only do snow scenes under glass for that reason.
