I chose "None of the above".  I have everything I need in my shop and if I don't, I buy it.  It's usually her coming out to borrow the Windex which I buy at SAM'S by the gallon.  Guess I live in a different world, but I HATE not having something I need right at hand when I need it.

Ah come on George, you mean to say that when you were "young" in the industry you NEVER "borrowed" anything from the wife's pantry? I'll admit when I first started getting into this I was always the cause of my wife not being able to find anything, I was even borrowing her butter knifes to cut lip slots (I think I still have it somewhere).  Grin

Nope, never did.  Probably that GI brainwashing, but I always kept what I needed in the work area for the work area.

A lot of things. I mostly use it to clean my airbrush and strip fish I have screwed up beyond recognition.

Now George you mean you never even stole some of her make-up. ie: mascare(sp) for turkey heads

Not even that Joey.  Now I won't deny catching holy hell from her when she came in the shop and demanded to know what "heifer" left her mascara in my shop because that wasn't the brand she uses.  I have to hold a demonstration seminar right there for that.

Linda, I use Windex by the gallons for everything, from cleaning antlers off, cleanign work tables, cleaning the bird flesher, and power blasting the clay residue off the deer eyes once I set them.  During black powder deer season, I just plug the cap hole of my muzzleloader and pour the barrel full.  Let it set 20 to 30 minutes, pour it out and run a cleaning patch through it.  It will look like brand new.

O.K., since nobody's has been "called out" yet on the new forum-- I'm calling you out George!  Grin  What you're saying is in your 50+ yrs performing taxidermy, you took nothing that belonged to your wife for the use of mounting any form of animal or marine life (including habitat)? We will need Connie's verification on this one!  Shocked Tongue Cheesy

Just yanking your chain. How does it feel to be "called out"?  Grin

I have to agree with George.. Shop supplies are their own entity seperate from the house.. Usually when I cant find MY windex, papertowels, q-tips, or dish soap it's in the back of someones car where they washed their car over the weekend and didn't have the time or intestinal fortitude to go GET THEIR OWN!!!

Well, since I AM the wife (and taxidermist), just how am I suppose to answer that? LOL I'm the opposite, I forget to get something for the house (like Windex) and have to go out and "borrow" it from the shop. (George, my memory problem is probably caused from  dieing too many times while sneezing. LOL)

I've been a taxidermist for 48 years.  I've been married for 17 years. In a previous life where I was married 15 years, the shop was dislocated from the house so it didn't do much good to "need" something and not have it there.  Guess I just learned the hard way and actually, never thought much about it until this question.  I still go to SAM'S club and buy supplies in two batches.  If paper towels are needed in the house AND in the shop, that means 2 separate cases.  If Connie needs Windex and I do to, I buy the gallon for me and the 2 quart spray bottles for her.    Just a habit I picked up and I've never broken.
