WING"TIPS" # 15 Take time ......

to throw the ball for that tireless retriever, to take pictures of her first retrieve/her last hunt, let her in the house to sleep on the couch etc etc . It seems life's demands when you have a young family and your own business take priority over the attention we used to once give a faithfull canine friend but take the time to let them know you love them. I know this may not seem like a wingtip but after putting my dog of almost 15 years down this morning and having some regret to the amount of attention she was given the past few years, it seemed like good advice
Farewell my faithfull friend!!

Wingman, Yet more GREAT advice. You are absolutely correct. Daisy has to stay outside (first home in five years) because of our landlords remodelling, even though it's still an old farmhouse.
Anyways, the last half year has had me feeling so guilty, except for a couple extremely cold nights that I feared the heated doghouse was not heated enough, because of the mucher lesser amount of attention I've been giving her. Duke's been gone for nearly seven years now, and I just thought of him because of Memorial Day coming up. Our cat is in a photo album or two, but our dogs are framed and prominently displayed on the walls to remind us of how they made our lives better each and every day they were in it.
I'm sure Mariah will be cherished forever.
Thanks for the reminder, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Eugene,
I'm very sorry for your loss! I had to put down my Faithfull friend and hunting dog a couple of days before Christmas this past year. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Again, sorry for your loss!

Its a bummer, sorry that shes gone. Although it appears that she had a great life doing what she was breed to do. Dont be to hard on yourself many a good dog waste away never getting to be all that they were meant to be. Good job giving her a good life.

It always hurts me when I hear of someone who has lost a dear hunting partner, especially a loyal friend. Sorry about the loss.

Sorry to hear of the loss Wingman. It's always a hard thing to swallow when you loose a dear companion. My brother lost his lab last fall and it was really hard on him and myself. You're right when you say that our 4 legged friends don't always get the time they deserve. This hustle and bustle society we live in tends to really drain away quality time with the people and animals we love.My prayers go out to you.

Wingman, here was my "Lady Dog" in her prime. Man could she hunt, but an even better loyal friend. Type of dog that would follow you wherever you would go! She beat cancer at 4, and hunted all the way to 12...Died at 13.
