Looking for some help on freeze drying a 12 inch crappie have never done one before  mike

Are you going to freeze dry it? At 12 inches, I wouldnt put it in the drier, its to big. Skin it out, carve a form, use dense foam, as the light floral stuff has a tendency to explode, put it all together and then freeze dry it.

There is no problem freeze drying a 12" crappie. We do a lot of crappies in the 14" to 15" range with no problem. We freeze dry a lot of fish a lot bigger than that in different species, although crappies do present some problems. If you know what you are doing, they will freeze dry just fine. Give us a call if you need any particular questions.
