a good school?

i want to go to taxidermy school. i live in northeastern oklahoma, and i have been lookin at schools in missouri and texas(i cant find any in OK) and i have decided on a missouri school that 4 hours away from me  and i can come home on the weekends....

question is.....how do i know if its a good school? if there anything i should be aware of or lookin for when i go to see it before i pay my 3400 dollers?

if your talkin about chip and carrie at MO taxidermy institute, your in good hands, i went as have many others, just do a search on here about them and look at what has been said, it is all good as far as i know, and he will be available for questions long after you go home from school and start your career, they are super people and the classes are geared for time, i dont think they could squeeze any more into it in the time your there, i did take a couple of extra things of my own to mount if i had time, i did, some people dont, but i did go in and work on weekends some as well, good luck on your endeavors, Russ

I 2nd that.  it was well worth the money and time spent away from home. You will learn more than you ever thought you could in just 4 weeks.  If you decide to go there, the sooner you sing up and find housing the easier it will be on you.

I agree with Russ and Bonk, MTI was a great school and great people.  You probably cant learn any more anywhere else in only 4 weeks.

MTI is a really good school. There are some other posts about them on this thread that you should read. Everyone on this forum who went there (including me) has said a lot of good things about it.

The school I chose was in Kansas City, KS.  Second Creation Taxidermy School. 

I'm a graduate of Second Creation Taxidermy School.  I completed my training in May, 2004.  It was a wonderful experience.  There is nothing to compare with one on one training from a Master Taxidermist, Cindy Cunningham.  The classes were informative and inspirational, with technical support after completion for those projects that I needed a little extra help with.

Cindy has been a great friend and mentor since I had the pleasure of studying under her.  She has encouraged me to take my talents to the next level, competition.  I have entered five competitions in my career, resulting in several ribbons and awards.  Among those awards are the Missouri Trappers Association's "Best Professional Mammal" and the Safari Club International's "Exotic Animal Award".

In the three years since I opened my business, I have enjoyed great success.  My business has now expanded to include a 5,000 square foot state of the art taxidermy studio, including a 1,000 square foot showroom and retail space.  There is no limit to the potential of a taxidermy business.  The only limitations are those you impose upon yourself.

I've enjoyed and have every indication that I will continue to enjoy great success.  I know you will have a wonderful time at Second Creation Taxidermy School!
