finally results!
the finished cast is demolded and painted. In this case a fiarly simple dark wash that was steel wooled off. then washes and highlights added.
and presto.
If anyone has any other questions let me know. Ill be glad to help if i can.

Very nice posting, I'm impressed.  That process will work very well.  I have done similar things throughout the years but did use water as the catalyst and you are right, it doesn't go into solution very well.  I whip it real well and then dump the access water out.  Then smooth it onto the surface with my finger while wearing a latex glove.  I love the use of the dish soap and water to smooth it out.  I have never done that before.  Cool trick and again, great posting!

Thats for sure. plus you can pick your own rocks for display. I have even done this on a larger scale molding a rock that was 3 feet wide. it took a bit more silicone Cheesy but it worked
